So…our last in house Soulflower production was an installment of What’s in My Record Bag. We’ve been fortunate enough to host this event three previous times. As a collective we enjoy asking other members of the crew to come out and play music they actually like. No expectations, no requests, no nothing but what they happen to be rockin at the moment. We snagged the idea after watching a few dozen episodes of Amoeba’s What’s in my bag series.
This time around we went outside the crew and invited people who don’t ordinarily get asked to play share music to join us as guest dj’s for the night. Bradley and I sat down and made a short list of people who we both felt had an interesting musical point of view. Judging by the response, and the requests from others to be considered in the future we’re going to continue in this vein for future installments. Turns out people are down to share what they like with a room full of strangers. Who knew? Here’s a few snaps of the process along with some info about the line-up.
